Decided the paracord wrap on my 11 needed to go so I looked around for something to take their place.

Since I have micarta already on my 16, the extra scales (brown and black) are just sitting around not doing anything.

I thought, "hmmm, I wonder..."

Well, got out the dremmel tool and went to work!

As a final touch, I had some thin lime green G10 slabs from another project that never went anywhere so I added those too.

I was a little worried they would be too big to fit into the AZwelke sheath I have for it but it fits just fine:

Great retention and zero rattle.

Not sure if I'll strip the blade and patina it just yet. Kinda like the way it looks now but it's probably going to happen at some point in the future.

Thanks for looking!

So how does it feel in the hand? Do the palm swells from the tweeter sized handle translate well when used with the much shorter handle of the BK11?

Seen it on a 14, first I've seen on an 11. Looks awesome! Man...I need an 11...

Wow man!
That turned out fantastic!
I think that's the first time I've seen that mod.
Truly nice work!

* for some odd reason I'm really hungry for a crawfish boil...:D

That is cool beans! If you would also post some pics of those awesome scales in the Beckerhead knife making & modification thread it'd be greatly appreciated. Nice to see that there are still some unique ideas out there.

That's awesome, they look like they contour similar to a 162 Bushcrafter which is really comfy once you get use to it

I like it too. I'm wondering though, is it handle heavy?

Yeah, it's drastically different than what it felt like with the para-wrap, obviously but it feels like a lot "surer" grip.

It is heavier now but was never really much by itself so the added weight isn't something that I think I'll notice or care about.

Thanks for the kind words, everybody!

Thanks for the idea. Gonna have to try this on my BK11 soon. It currently has a paracord wrap but I think I like that even less than the plain handle. Of course there's the factory micarta and aftermarket G10 but it's hard for me to spend $30+ for scales on a $40 knife.

I've been playing round with this idea and trying to figure out how you got BOTH of those bolt holes lined up through the handle cutouts...did you have to modify the steel as well? Do you have a pic with only the handle and underside of one scale showing how the bolts line up?
