I've been lurking for a few days, hopefully I'm posting this in the right place...

I was wondering how the community goes about finding individuals/shops that do mods to knives. In general, I've come across references to a few people when they are referenced in videos but google searches don't turn up much. Specifically I'm looking for someone who would be able to make a damascus steel blade that would fit my BM 943. I love the blade profile so I would like something similar but I haven't been able to find someone who would do that work. Thanks/apologies in advance.

you might get a better answer if you post this in the Knifemakers section of Bladeforums. I suspect if anyone is doing what you ask that is where you are likely to find them. Good luck.

Welcome to BladeForums X Xiryn ,
Just as Easyrider Easyrider said, start by reading the different hosted knife makers here at this link. Choose some to read up on that at least have a current last date that’s been posted recently, some of them have gone silent for quite awhile, no use wasting your time there.
Best of luck to you, and once again welcome.

I have a couple of Kershaws that I have been thinking about replacing the blades with something of higher quality. Ordered some S35VN from NJSB and going to dive in. You have opened the door, step through.

A number of years ago i found a guy who made damascus blades not too expensive, i had some blades made for a few folding knives, wound up selling them off over the years though. If you do it, make sure its a knife you really want to keep .
