I'm look to buy a 735 and I'd like to get the satin blade but I'm begining to be afraid of rust.
How can I have a coating put on the blade so I don't ave any rust?? NOT B2 I DON'T LIKE THAT STUFF!
Also I'd like to do some with the G10 Like maybe get custom handels made.
Does anyone know how or by whom I can get this done???

Yes, I did a search. No, I didn't find anyting useful.

Thanks!

Knife11,

If you treat that 154CM decently, it won't rust.
Keep it clean, dry, and maybe once every couple years wipe it down with a Tuf-Cloth. Unless you are inexcusably negligent with your knives, it won't rust.

I had a sog Night vision that developed some very small rust spots I only had that knife about a month at the time. It was a satin finish but it was also ATS-34. I didn't think 154cm would be different.

Thanks for your input

heh, well I've never been particularly impressed with 154CM/ATS-34's corrision resistance.

If it was me, I'd wait until BM decides to quit pimping for their total crap BT2 coating and puts out 705s with the BC1 coating, I know I'll be buying a 710HS if they start putting out BC1 coatings for em!

You can send the blade off to BodyCoat and they'll coat it for you. I'm not sure how much they charge, but the coating has a great reputation.

I haven't had any rust problems with my uncoated ATS-34/154CM blades though.

Anything can be rubbed off eventually, but they are considered to be very durable. IIRC the Rockwell hardness is somewhere around 90.
