Does anyone have one of these and could tell me if it's a great knife or not? Any info would be great.
Thank you.

lum tanto...
hi,
i have had both the titat and micarta handled one...i was most impressed with the micarta handled one. the blade is only ats-34 and there is nothing cutting edge in the way of materials but, it was solid and VERY, VERY well made...and a pretty big knife..the tanto blade is a "TRUE" tanto tip plade with the proper edge!
it felt MASSIVE in the hand without being overly large and it sits VERY low in the pocket!
hope this helps...:p

I have one of Bob's classic American Tanto's with the stag handle. It's a very nice knife and well made. Bob does great work.

I don't know about the tanto but I have a tactical folder (titanium) and a med chinese folder (Titanium) both are great knives. Bob's knives are second to none.

I picked one of these up from Bob at last year's Solvang show. It has a BG-42 blade with a Japanese-style tanto grind, rather than the more typical American tanto that Bob seems to make more of. Let me tell you that I had no intention of buying another knife at the show after having spent more than my allocation already, and Bob had sold out of all of the rest of the knives he brought, and the show had not even opened to the general public yet! I was admiring this last piece on his otherwise empty table, and he picked it up and offered it to me to hold. I was instantly overwhelmed at how good it felt. Then I thought to myself "if this is made out of BG-42 I will buy it!" So I asked Bob what steel he used and he told me BG-42. Sold! (I later found out that he usually uses ATS34, so it was by some kind of fate that this particular knife was made from my favorite stainless.) The workmanship on this knife is as good as it gets, and Bob is known for his superb satin finish and crisp grind lines.
I have other custom knives priced much higher than this piece, but for some reason this has remained one of my favorites. There is something intangibly right about this knife, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

They're all well made, with excellent grind lines and beautiful balance. I have 2 Fixed Tactical Tanto and 3 Stag Handled dress tanto's. I'm attaching a really poor quality pic, but I hope you get the idea.

This is the one I was speaking of.

Oh, the folding tanto. They're extremely smooth and well made as well. He does a much better point than what Spyderco was able to pull off.

Hey Tony,
How come I do not see Lum's tanto you got from me recently in your picture? Just dropped in to say Hi. Alex.

Not to worry. Just didn't have time to take more pic's yet. I need to update my collection, it's grown since the last family picture. That's a 12" ruler for reference.
