Custom Buck 110 Question

Hey, so I've heard everyone say that the custom buck 110s are better quality than the standard ones. Is this true? If so, in what ways is it better than the stock ones?

It would depend on what you specify, i.e., stag scales, S30V blade, etc. But I have yet to own a 110 that wasn't near perfect in fit and finish. I currently have a standard Buck 110 in 420HC with gorgeous wooden scales (autographed by Chuck Buck back in '09) and a BassPro 110 in CPM154, with nice but rather plain rosewood scales. Both have blades perfectly centered, no side or vertical play, no protrusion of the backlock.

My thoughts,

1. The customs are made by more experienced workers from what I understand.

2. fit and finish seems better, I have two custom 110's, two standard 110's and 1 web special 110. The fit and finish is better on my two customs.

3. The stuff you get on a custom to me is better, S30V steel and Nichol Silver Bolsters, and the choice of handle materials.

So all in all you are getting a nicer 110 with much more personal detail, because the guy that makes your knife sends a card with it with his signature on it.

Standard Buck 110 cost $40 or less. My custom 110 with s30v and sambar stag was $227.50. There's nothing wrong with my standard 110 but I have to say the F&F on my custom is pretty impressive.

My EDC is a custom NS 110 sambar stag S30V that I bought in 2009 and it's still going strong. I agree with everyone who says that the custom is a little nicer in craftsmanship. More attention to detail than standard assembly line stuff. And you get to select your scales and blade metal.

Here is my custom... s30v, asian buffalo horn, nickel bolsters... I have a 50 ann. one as well--it's fine, but this one is nicer.

All of my 110 hunters are rock solid,with the exception of a few a couple years back,in which buck quickly did more than their share to fix the problems I had.ALl of the customs I've had are built very nice and no blade play or issues.sometimes you can get a lemon but they will definitely fix ya up!
