I received an email today from Buck saying they are extending the deadline for customizing Spitfires for getting them by Christmas. i have a couple of Spitfires but no interest in shelling out cash for custom ones. I reserve that so far to 112 Rangers. Out of curiosity, I went to the Buck page to see the different options. Holy smokes, there are so many options! If you wanted all options, I think you would have to buy many thousands of knives. Too lazy to count the options and do the math. Here is a question not related to Spitfires. How often does Buck make available different handle options for something like Rangers? I ordered a custom one with elk horn but do other horn or bone materials pop up periodically? Like ram, buffalo, moose and the like.

Incidentally, I did do the math for the Rangers. You would need 216 custom Rangers to get every combination of options currently offered. That is only about $40,000 worth. This isn't counting the sheath and pouch options.

Ok. I did the math for the Spitfires. You would need to order 28,224 of them to get all the options, not including accessories.

Love that you did the math : ) I was always wondering about the total combinations as I do like the Spitfire.

Suggestion - start a new thread with your 112 questions, likely to get more answers. If I had the answer I would say. I'm also curious how often the choices update / change on the 112.

Burl was available along with Ramshorn and Buffalo horn for the 112 in the past. Blade options have always been limited but for ONE brief window you could actually get serrations lol! Now that a Custom 112 with Elk gets close to $200.00 I hope Buck will offer a Drop point and/or S35VN and S45VN for the 112. If Heaven forbid Buck offered a Drop point in Damascus I would gladly pay a hundred bucks for that. CJ take my money!

I'm not generally a fan of cerakote, nor do I have many modern knives, but the 722 builder is a sure way for me to waste some time. They had way too much fun putting those options together.

I have a couple Budgie's and sometimes wish they had as many options as the Spitfire. I'd embrace flashy and colorful. Pretty much the opposite of what I regularly carry.

Then I come to my senses, and realize I'd go broke.
