custom building help!!

i just started custom building knives, mostly throwers as they are easy to make. i was wondering if any body could give any tips on sharpening, sheath construction, blade design or any idead on cheap simple equipment that i need any tips for a beginner custom builder would be much apreciated, nothing too high tech or pricey as im still in college and dont have funds or space for elaborate equipment
also if any one can help with steel types, im using spring steel at the moment but if anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear from some pros!

The best advice that I can offer is to use the search function for each specific topic you wish to learn about. I use it a lot.
