I have been wanting to to a hawk design. I ordered some S-7 last week and it will be another week or so and my shop time has been cut back during my transition out of the Army.

Anyways Jason buda my bro had a large bar of some 1095 about .230 in thickness and I have had Robs rotary platen in the shop for some time. I drew this out within the confines of the steel and decided to do a full convex grind.

Heat treat went down with-out a hitch and ended up with some nice hamon activity around the front edge. The spine and handle area where clay coated and ended up a tad bit softer than the 59 Rockwell hard edge.

Specs:
1095 with hamon and nice soft spine handle. Hammer textured
OAL is 12" front edge is 3 1/4" stock is .230, hammer is 1 1/4" long
Handle is Desert Ironwood with F-22 carbon fiber bolsters, red spacer deviding the two.
