Hello all,

A quick question if I could. Do any of you know of a source where I could get low volume custom casting done? I am in constant need of scabbard shapes (tips). I've studied a lot of period art work and based on that have developed what I believe are some pretty decent designs, but the problem is, I don't do casting. I would definitely want more than one and over time it might be quite a few but I'm trying to avoid having to order hundreds up front.

Anybody know someone?

I doubt casting will do what you want.

Can you show us a picture, please?

With casting, you will have to make the designs, then patterns, then molds, then waxes, etc. With CNC machining or 3-D printing, they can be done on CAD and the machines do the rest.

I'm not adverse to 3d printing and / or milling, those are very good ideas as well. Construction method doesn't matter to me nearly as much as end result. Do you guys know outfits that are available to do that sort of thing?

I would think stamping for the two on the right. You would still have to have dies made. Then, you could use a hydraulic press to make the parts.

Agreed, stamping or just straight up fabrication from sheet metal is the way to go with nearly all of those.
