Custom chaves 228 - want to verify authenticity

Hi Blade Forums,

Recently acquired this knife through private purchase. Just received today. Didn't come with any type of pouch or paperwork.

Action is super solid. Nice lockup.

Noticed that there is no CHAVES logos or markings on the blade. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

I've seen those Chinese clones out there and would like to educate myself and adjudicate my purchase.

My first post here and I know this thread is pretty old. But a little insight from a little research I've done because I too recently acquired a 2nd hand 228. The clips on the clones are a little different on the clones. Notice on the bottom there appears to be a "chunk" missing from the clip. Also on the clone the hole for the detent ball does not go through the lock at completely.
