Howdy,

I just completed these two sheaths, one for the Izula and one for the RC-3.

Let me know what you think...

Look good, does the Izula sheath have a drain hole as well at the tip ? are they set up to accept factory molle locks & Tek-Loc ?
Thanks for sharing

The Izula does not have a drain hole now, because some people don't like 'em. But, it is 3 seconds to add one.

The holes are drilled at 1/2" intervals, which allows for the use of all the common attachments from Blade-Tech, like the Molle Loks and the Spyderco G-Clip. Though, I would have to add one more hole on each side of the Izula sheath to make it work with the Large Tek Lok, I figured not many would use the Large one with a knife this size. But, like the drain hole...

Thanks for asking.

Kind Regards,
Marion

I like it, do you do the RC3 sheath in other colors? How much?

7wt, with respect, I cannot discuss price on this board, but please email or PM me, and I would be happy to answer all your price questions.

I can make it in quite a few different colours, blaze/safety orange is just a popular coloor, and it matches the handle of the RC-3.

Thank you for asking, and I look forward to further discussion with you.

Kind Regards,
Marion

It's a good question. When I have shown my work to some on the internet, they have been concerned with the tip coming out through the drain hole.

Kind Regards,
Marion

LOL, that is like looking for pants, and underwear without flies, ridiculous!

Who would not "like" a drain hole?!

I've wondered the same thing and went back and forth on whether to make a habit of adding drain holes or not. I think from now on every sheath I make will have some way to drain unless someone specifically requests no drainage.

At first I thought they weren't really necessary for neck carry but the more I think about it one would be useful when rinsing out the sheath.

BTW nice sheaths Marion.

Marion, those look really good. I've always preferred the pancake style to the fold over since it gives you more attachment and mounting options. Great stuff brother!

LOL, damn hippies!:D

: )

Thank you. I think the drain hole is very useful. Though, I have also seen knives corrode right there...

The Pancake is also more consistent in performance. Thank you!

What's the advantage of concealex over kydex? Look good btw!

Thank you!

Kydex v Concealex....

Kydex is easier to find. And in alot of colors... In fact, I mis-labeled the thread, it should have read Kydex not Concealex, because the Orange material is Kydex.

I find Kydex harder to work, it has some peculiarities that are challenging.

On the customers side... About the only way you can tell by sight is the surface texture, they are slightly different. And in use, I think Concealex is a bit stiffer, which lends to more 'snap' in a sheath.

Hope that helps...

Best,
Marion
