Hello I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get my Spyderco ceramic stones custom cut to fit my KME stone holder 4x1"
Thanks!

This would be extremely interesting for me as well. Or how one can cut ceramic and/or water stones in general. Maybe at a stone mason?

I was thinking the same thing, diamond tile saw. Just wanted to get a few more opinions.

If you are wanting more options for sharppening stones talk to Ken Schwartz he is a super great guy and import's a lot of different stones and cuts stones for the KME,you will also find Ken to be a very honest person I know my friend wanted a 320 grit stone and Ken was more then willing to sell it to him but told him he had a 400 grit that cut's faster and better then the 320 grit my friend was looking at.

Ken is the guy that sells the CBN stuff to Ron at KME and Ken has a selection of stones that is very vast,I can also say to that I have dealt with Ken about 6 times now and I have never been dissapointed with him or his service and stones he sell's.

Ken can be reached at 209 612 2790

I just placed an order with Ken 2 or 3 days ago and I was only wanting some CBN Emulsion from him I wanted 1 2OZ bottle of .1 CBN and a 2OZ bottle of .25 CBN and we got talking and I asked him about some of stones he has and what he has that's a fine grit then the Chosera 10K and he said I have a 10K suehiro that is really a 16K when you compare the particulate size of the Suehiro 10K to the CHosera 10K and Ken also told me that he had a Suehiro that was 20K when compare to the particulate size again of the Chosera 10K.

I live in Canada and Ken is in the States and when I get the Suehiro stones I will update the thread as to what Suehiro call's them,I also ended up getting the 2 Suehiro stones and the 2 CBN emulsion's as well and some glass stropping blanks mounted with Nano cloth that Ken say's works better then Kangaroo leather for the finer CBN emulsion's,Ken also sell's Kangaroo leather as well.

My stuff should be here soon I'm hoping in 5 to 7 days.

Very much looking forward to your findings. Still pondering where to go next with my sharpening.

From what I understand a water cooled tile saw will cut pretty much all your man made stones.

Does Ken have a web site?

I am a stone mason and I can say absolutely without a doubt that a diamond bladed concrete saw (like our iQ) will cut them with ease.

I have two spyderco 8" stones but I'm not trying it on mine (not cause I'm scared but because I don't need smaller stones).

just use your busse infi.:)

tile saw seems right to me. diamond blade and go slow and steady. i'm curious if anyone has tried and succeeded and how they did it. so i'm in on this thread.

Rock shops have lapidary saws. They cut up and sell rocks and minerals. They sell tumblers, rock hammers, jewelry making supplies, polishing (faceting) equipment, abrasives, etc. I have had them cut my Norton Crystalon (SiC) stones. They charge by the cross sectional area of the cut.

Ken only use's facebook but he has a lot of stuff instock, for the KME and Edge Pro I know for sure he has Chosera stones Nubatama Platinum's and their Bamboo series as well plus Shapton's,he stones for the Wick Edge as well but I forget witch ones he has.

Ken also has full size stones and CBN Emulsion's and Diamond Emulsion's and spray's.

Here is a link to his facebook page and his phone number 209 612 2790

Email me at wadenorton2008@yahoo.ca I was going to PM you but forgot you have to pay for that on this forum now,I would have replied sooner but it's been a while since I have been on.

A tile saw with preferably a porcelain blade would work fine. Ceramic may be hard on the blade so you may need to dress it, porcelain tiles are. For the aluminum oxide stones the diamond blade will cut them like butter.
