I want to get a custom tomahawk made out of Damascus steel, but Im new to this and not even sure where to start so I thought a forum would be good. I'm going to list the specs of what I want on here just in case anyone that sees this can either point me in the right direction or someone who makes them PM me to get started, maybe a quote on price range too. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Would like:
Handle length 12"
Full tang
Custom main blade design
Bout 3" spike on backside

you could consider posting in the exchange forum under wanted knife maker services. I'm sure some of the makers here could make something like that happen.

Coal creek forge nice guy highly recommended for hawks. He posts on here from time to time.

I'll second Steve Lilly of Coal Creak Forge. He makes great hawks and his damascus ones are special to say the least.
Heres mine!DSC08885.jpgDSC08884.jpg

I suspect a 12" full-tang damascus hawk could become rather expensive though. And imo it's a pity to hide the damascus under scales anyway. I'd go either Coal Creek Forge damascus style (as above) or go with "regular looking" steel. And then there's a bunch of nice hawks around. Mentioning Winkler Knives II as an option, I have a stealth on the way.

I think the billet alone would be more expensive than a finished piece with a normal tool steel, but if that's what he wants...

I missed the full tang part of your spec. As mentioned a full tang damascus hawk would be quite expensive. There are lots of nice full tang hawks out there
using regular steel. here is a nice style from CCF.

Craig Barr makes some nice hawk heads from damascus every know and then. He has his stuff over on ebay. I would have bought one myself, except I'm an inattentive ebayer, and I kept getting outbid at the last second. Damn ebay snipers...
