Custom Damascus

Hello Knife makers,

I am looking for someone who would be willing to work with me on a custom knife project. I am looking to purchase a survival knife for a newly minted naval aviator. I was hoping to design/have something made that would be great for survival, something he could bet his life on. I was leaning towards a Damascus blade, fixed, about 5-6 inches, perhaps with a seat belt cutter/rope cutter along the spine (not sure the technical handle). If anyone knows of a knife maker taking on custom work or if any of you are willing to do so, please send me an e-mail which can be found in my profile.

interesting! when you 5 or 6 inchs is that oal or blade length?

You might try the "Shop Talk - Bladesmith Questions and Answers" threads here on Bladeforums. Many of the knifemakers visit this custom thread, but not all of them. All of them however, do visit the Shop Talk threads. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone there to help you out.
