I thought of a contest that's unique and also involved enough as to warrant such a beastly prize. We're talking 1400 dollar value for a custom DDR AXD. I wanted feedback from you guys first before I posted it. I was thinking that it would be a video entry contest. Basically make a short video that's under 3 minutes and post it on youtube. Yes, it has to be public. I was thinking the video should do two things: answer the following question 1) Why do you feel like you deserve to win the knife? and 2) Promote bladeforums, particularly this DDR/HTM subforum of bladeforums. You can do the second part anyway you like. That's where you get creative. Tell them how awesome we are or whatever. I don't care. Basically, I want this contest to also drive up more people that know about our corner of the interwebz and about HTM and DDR knives in general. Just make sure all entries are clean. No foul language. Pretend like you're addressing your mother in law.

You're ugly mug doesn't have to be in the video if you don't want, but the two requirements must be met to be eligible to win the prize. Also, the contest will run a minimum of two months. I will extend as I see fit if it ends up only a handful of you guys enter the contest in those 60 days. You have to understand it is a high price custom knife, so we're not just making it easy for anyone to win.

**********ALSO, I don't want my name to be thrown out there in the contest. I prefer to be anon and keep a low profile. Just putting that out there. Feel free to mention Darrel's name though since it is his company and products we're talking about.

What say you people?

That's pretty cool Hark. I really want this knife, but videos are far from my expertise. I'll do my worst/best.

Prepare to be amazed. Or nauseous.

And yeah, $1400 AXD? Holy crap. I would cuss a lot but I don't want Hark to give me an infraction. I may add a few words after I see the prize though.

Sounds good. I'm kinda hesitant about entering this one, because I did already win one contest, and sharing the DDR wealth is good. I mean, it would be awesome to own this knife, but there are other members who are way more gung ho about the AXD, and I'm kinda feeling like I'd have a tough time explaining why I deserved to win. Cause really, I'm not sure that I do. I'm with neuron. I love the knife, and would like to get one, but always end up getting another Gun Hammer instead.

That being said, are there guidelines for what kind of video you'd be looking for, other than under 3 minutes, public, and no swear words? Does it have to feature our voices, or could it be a music video or very short movie, or what?

Doesn't matter. 3 minutes or less, no swearing, tell why you deserve to win, and find a way to promote DDR/HTM forums and products.

Oh, and have a link to our forums in the video description.

This will be an interesting challenge! I don't have access to any video equipment of my own, so I'll have to see what I can do about loaning some on budget.

This is going to be a blast.

No webcam? Or video editing software (available free online). If you have a windows PC, you can probably make something with windows movie maker too.

I can get the editing software easily enough, but I don't have any recording equipment. No webcam, no video camera (not after my ex-girlfriend lost it a few years ago).

But that's not going to stop me. :D

ok well its ready when you are i had an idea and ran with it lol ^_^ its unlisted for the moment but let me know and ill make it public

I hope you didn't mention my name at all in the vid, or else you'll have to edit it. I prefer to keep a low profile.

I'd enter for sure! I think the rules are fair as well. Looking forward to getting the "go ahead" on this.

I'm ready to do it. I could never afford a 1400 dollar knife, but that would just be amazing if I won!@#$
