Restrictions:
*Must be 18 years of age or older (if I ask for proof, you shall and will provide it)
*Must live in the continental United States, excluding New York City. <----I'll ask Darrel more about this. I'll try to make this a global contest since the prize is so awesome, but no promises yet.
*Must have been a member of bladeforums for at least 3 months or a paying member. Paid memberships override the 3 month rule.
*Must abide by all local, state, and Federal knife laws.
*Must be a carbon based life form
*Submit as many entries as you wish.
*Contest will run until December 31, 2012, and be extended if necessary (that is if your entries don't generate a lot of noise between The Trifecta).

MISCELLANEOUS fine print: Winner agrees to abide by all local, state, and federal laws regarding knife ownership. We will not be held responsible for any injury or death caused by inappropriate use of the knife. The knife is not a toy and should not be treated as such. These knives are sharp and can cause injury if mishandled.

Rules
This contest will be in a different format than the others. It will take a lot more effort on your part to win this since the prize is a 1400 dollar AXD, the same model as used in The Expendables. It will be a youtube video contest. There will be two parts to it, and entrants must take part in both parts or be ineligible.

1) Why do you feel like you deserve to win the knife?

2) Promote DDR/HTM knives and this subforum. This is where you guys get creative. Basically, I want this contest to drive up traffic so that more people know about our corner of the interwebz and about HTM and DDR knives in general. Just make sure all entries are clean. No foul language. Pretend like you're addressing your mother-in-law...even if you hate her guts. In addition to finding a creative way to promote the brand and this subforum, provide a link in the youtube description that points to this subforum. To make it easy for you guys, here is the link to enclose in the video description: www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/860-Darrel-Ralph-(DDR)-amp-HTM-Knives

One thing I don't want to see is a shoutout for me. I like my privacy. I want to keep my anonymity. Feel free to mention Darrel Ralph on the other hand, since he is the designer and owner of DDR and HTM Knives. Beyond that exception, do whatever you want that is both family friendly and legal. Oh, and if you are a shy one, you don't need to show your mug in the video. You can even get someone else to do the "acting."

Oh there is excitement. People want to keep it on the hush so no one enters but there will be plenty I'm sure.

That would just extend the contest. Darrel is not going to end this one prematurely if he hates all the entries, which actually has happened in the past. That's why all the contests from here on out have a stipulation that they can be extended at will.

But you were joking anyway. :P

I see Hark. I was more or less suggesting that people would wait until the last couple weeks to post up and try to catch others off guard. I am glad we have a long deadline though. Thanks for the opportunity our fearless leaders.

I'm not sure I'm gonna enter this one. Having already won one contest, I can't say as how I'd like my odds, particularly on the deserving it category. One person can only be so lucky, and this prize would probably use up all the luck in the world. Definitely the coolest prize I've seen yet though.

Everyone is entitled to enter provided they meet the restrictions. Nothing says you can't win a prize more than once. The odds of that are pretty slim though I would imagine, but feel free to enter regardless if you won something in the past already.

I have a question and a serious one at that. Let's say I win and I get this amazing knife. Is it bad that I would want to carry it pretty often and actually use it?

I mean I know its a supremely capable knife and designed to be a serious cutting tool, but us it insulting to actually use it? I don't mean baton cinder blocks or stab car hoods, just some light work and edc duty. Would DDR be mad if it had a scratch or two on it and some marks on the pocket clip? Or is the idea behind a knife like this to be more of a shower even though it can run with the best of them? I really like this knife. I mean a crap load.

That is a mean folder.

I have not lusted after a tactical folder in a while. This one works for me on a lot of levels.

I may have to make a "Pick Me" video, even though I really don't deserve it. I have won a couple of giveaways of folders and one fixed blade. I sure would love this one though.

By all means use it. It's not a one of a kind. It's been around since before The Expendables. Knives are meant to be used IMO.

welll i guess since i made mine before the contest even began ill go ahead and post it lol

Totally, Trivia. Hark's on the nose here.

The knife was made for man, not man for the knife. If you get your hands on a good knife, do it some justice and use it!

I'll be making a video for this...that knife is unreal! Always wanted it but I just don't have the money for a knife like that. I'll post it up as soon as I make it. Thanks Hark and Darrel for hosting the contest!

isnt any one else going to do this?!?!?!?!?!? i mena come on your going up for a possibly FREE AXD ... how could you not throw a vid up????

That's what I'm thinking too. But this is why I can extend this contest indefinitely past the deadline if all we get are a handful of entries.

true i get cha lol but i really wanna give this a shot and dont wnat the contest running for years with only one or 2 vids lol

I think what I would like to do is create a Youtube account called:

NutnButFancyProject

And do similar knife reviews but just a really nice knives. So comparing a $150 knife to a SOG Twitch and talking about why the SOG is superior. No knocking a Sebenza for being $400 and preferring it be made for $200. No needlessly ripping up a company just because you got a lemon.

A knife channel for knife people.
