Many of you may not know who Dobruski is. I suspect that will be changing in the near future. He is a Brazillian maker known for his hand crafted bali-songs.He also makes folders. Here is a link to his website: http://www.geocities.com/facasdobruski/

I recently placed an order for a Prometheus with blue g-10 scales. I am getting tired of black. Since blue is my favorite color it seemed the way to go. To be honest with you I liked the design of the knife, but I didn't really know what to expect. I have never handled any of his knives.

I was excited when the pictures of my completed knife were emailed to me. I thought it looked like pure sex. I eagerly anticipated the arrival of my knife, still not quite sure what to expect. I suspected it would be nice, but I had no idea just how nice.

I had no idea that FedEx was about to bring me a knife from a person that was soon to be one of my favorite makers. Physically seeing and manipulating the knife leaves me wanting more.

My Prometheus (serial number 20) has a 3.25" blade of ATS-34, titanium liners, and of course blue g-10 scales. The pocket clip is designed for tip down carry. I like the way the pocket clip is mounted as high as possible on the bolster. It makes for more discreet carry. The ergonomics are superb. The Prometheus seems to melt into my hand. It feels as if the Prometheus was made for my hands specifically. Fit and finish are excellent. I am not exaggerating when I say that fit and finish is as good and even better than some big name makers. Lockup is like a bank vault with no play in any direction. It locks up with a solid "kerthunk", reminiscent of the Spyderco Wegner.*

Looks like I found a new EDC!

Here are the pics, but I will say that they do not do this knife justice.

Man, that thing is beautiful! It looks really stout! I'm sending you an email with some questions...

So I guess you won't be needing that Model 4 anymore, then, huh?

Been using the Prometheus extensively for a couple of days now. This is one hell of a knife. It really holds an edge.

It is tough, ergonomic and graceful. Little things like the dovetailed bolsters and blue backstrap really add to the knife.

I will let you all know more long term results as I get them.

I am still excited about this one. What a bargain! I have seen knives of this quality go for twice this amount. If this is typical of his work I will have more.

Sweet! One of the advantages of metal bolsters -- you don't have to worry about high-mounted clip screws ripping out.

I think we will be seeing a lot more from him. His work is top notch. I would say that he is a real up and comer.

That is a sweet knife! I have heard nothing but good about Dobruski - I am trying to gt an Atlantis in carbon fiber before the prices go up. It's like a custom frame-lock mini-AFCK for around $250!!!! :D

the Atlantis is a sweet knife as well. I handled one at the Blade show. As a matter of fact the Atalantis will probably be my next purchase from him.

Dennis,

Can you give us a price on that baby if you don't mind?

Right now they are $240.

To be honest with you I don't know how long that price will last. I think he is getting really covered up.

I am so impressed with his work that I am going to start carrying some of his knives to sell. I will be charging the same price that he gets for them. I have some more of the Prometheus on order right now. Hopefully they will be here in about 4-5 weeks. I believe I will be getting some black and some blue. Dobruski is about 3 months behind right now. I want to try and keep a steady supply of his knives in stock.
