Many of you may not know who Dobruski is. I suspect that will be changing in the near future. He is a Brazillian maker known for his hand crafted bali-songs.He also makes folders. Here is a link to his website: http://www.geocities.com/facasdobruski/
I recently placed an order for a Prometheus with blue g-10 scales. I am getting tired of black. Since blue is my favorite color it seemed the way to go. To be honest with you I liked the design of the knife, but I didn't really know what to expect. I have never handled any of his knives.
I was excited when the pictures of my completed knife were emailed to me. I thought it looked like pure sex. I eagerly anticipated the arrival of my knife, still not quite sure what to expect. I suspected it would be nice, but I had no idea just how nice.
I had no idea that FedEx was about to bring me a knife from a person that was soon to be one of my favorite makers. Physically seeing and manipulating the knife leaves me wanting more.
My Prometheus (serial number 20) has a 3.25" blade of ATS-34, titanium liners, and of course blue g-10 scales. The pocket clip is designed for tip down carry. I like the way the pocket clip is mounted as high as possible on the bolster. It makes for more discreet carry. The ergonomics are superb. The Prometheus seems to melt into my hand. It feels as if the Prometheus was made for my hands specifically. Fit and finish are excellent. I am not exaggerating when I say that fit and finish is as good and even better than some big name makers. Lockup is like a bank vault with no play in any direction. It locks up with a solid "kerthunk", reminiscent of the Spyderco Wegner.*
Looks like I found a new EDC!
Here are the pics, but I will say that they do not do this knife justice.
* you knew I was going to have to through in a Wegner reference somewhere
