I've been kicking this around, I figure how much it would hurt to ask.

I'll start with pics because most people here proably have no idea.

A drum key is a handy device that lets you turn the lugs on a drum and tune it to your liking.

So I if wanted to get a similar key (with a few design changes) made of either Ti or Stainless, how much would I be paying? I don't know any details of the process, but I do know what I want.

The general shape would be the same, with a 1/2 inch protrusion on the top and thicker handles. I'd probably want my name on it or something I guess, haha.

Thanks for looking. Email would be a good form of communication if anyone feels more comfortable there.

Is this the wrong forum? I figured this would be the place to find people with the materials and equipment.

Another direction I may be looking at for this is for something in the pattern of a comtech stinger that is also a drum key, keychain sized.

It's not too difficult a task. I'd be glad to have a bash if I had an anvil with hardy hole and a proper forge rather than a wood fire with a sledgehammer head set in a stump next to it.

might have more success on www.anvilfire.com/gurusden they're more general smithy than the mainly knife orientated crowd here

If he wants Ti, you ain't gonna forge it. The lathe and mill work is no problem but the broaching is what makes me stay away from it. I just don't know how many knifemakers are set up to broach a square hole like that.
