Custom Emerson Knives

I posted these on the Emerson Forum, but I thought that I would show them here.

12 years ago I ordered a custom ES1M folder from Ernie Emerson. 11 years ago I ordered a custom Rhino folder from Ernie.

Monday afternoon both knives arrived!

I would have been thrilled to receive 1 knife but getting both is really something. Both the ES1M & Rhino have Titanium liners and G10 scales. The ES1M was designed for Navy Seals and is the prototype for the Emerson Commander but has a chisel grind. The Rhino was also developed for Navy Seals and is one of the rarer Emerson knives.

It was well worth the wait.

Very cool!

Two of the rarest Emersons in one day!! WOW!! I've waited as long for some Emersons but Ernie always comes thru.

Thanks guys.

The ES1M & Rhino will fit well with my other 2 Emersons, a CQC6, Invoice # 143 that I ordered in 1992 and received in 1995 and my Viper MV2 which I ordered in 1997 and got in Jan. 2002.

Jim, to receive two such knives on the same day (hell, even if it was in the same year after all that wait) really must have made you feel like a kid in the candy store.

Jim,

I can understand your delight after such a wait. I am interested however to hear whether if you had your choice of the Emerson line up today you would pick the same two pieces? I please don't infer that I think there is anything wrong with them, but my tastes and preferences change every month ...... goodness knows how they have changed over 11 year! :D:D:D:D

Cheers,

Stephen

that is a hell of a long wait

Bob,

It was along time coming, but it definitely made my day.

Stephen,

I would not have picked any other pieces. The ES1M was designed for the Navy Seals as the SERE and is one of the rarer Emerson knives. The Rhino was also designed for the Seals as the SSDS and is the rarest Emerson, I believe. They both are in the original configuration of G-10 with a Titanium frame. I guess I could have opted for bolsters and micarta, but I never thought of changing my original orders.

I am very happy with both knives.
