custom Emerson parts

I am interested but you don't have a membership for private messages set up. How can I contact you?

So I made some parts from stainless, titanium and ampco 45, for those of you that have not Hurd of ampco 45 here is a link

https://www.ampcometal.com/products/aluminum-bronze/ampco-45-extruded/

The washers make a major difference and I’ll be making 1/2 a dozen of them, the ampco and titanium pivots also make a smooth opening difference also

You're not giving these away for free are you?

So then please get a Gold membership before you try and sell or promote your product.

You can’t because I don’t sell these just make them for my self

Very cool! Keep us posted on how they come out and the knives you put them in!

This isn't accurate.

A Gold Membership is required to sell stuff in general, ie knives from your collection, gadgets, and other dodads from your personal collection, not something you make.
If you decided to start selling these or other parts that you make, a Knifemaker/Craftsman membership would be accurate.

No pressure, just keep it in mind as it looks like there may already be a market.;)

Sorry I misunderstood you were just showing them.

You're right as a manufacturer you would need the Maker membership. It's worth it. There are tons of threads on here of people looking for phosphor bronze style washers for all types of knives.

If you are serious about it (you seem to be) get the Maker Membership and you will make sales. If you decide to make a business out of it. They look pretty good!

I like bladeforms it’s a cool place, in person I have no Emerson friends to chat with so I do it here and share all of my Emerson stuff with you guys.

With that being said I won’t risk my chance to use this forum, I also don’t want to pay for a membership because I have no interest in making money off this forum so I will not in any way shape or forum sell these or my bolster work to blade forum members, please admins and any one else that has the power to remove my membership understand that I do this for my self for fun.

Please other members of bladeforums do not ask me to sell or make any thing for you, I cannot and will not do it

Much respect from me to you. Deepest apologies for misunderstanding your intentions. Thank you for respecting the rules.

Please come and talk with us about Emersons often, they are one of my favourite brands.

I currently have in my 7-b the washers and a titanium pivot I made and it feels (this could be in my head) really solid, I am running every thing dry with no lube and it’s every bit as smooth as factory washers and pivot pin

Bottom line, it’s really cool to have them but if it’s not broke don’t fix it

You'd have another customer here... just sayin ;) Nice work!

PS: try drilling some small holes in the washers to perforate them for lubricant retention (like CRK). See if that makes a difference.

Actually I find the earlier sebenza Regulars with solid washers are smoother than the perforated ones on the new 21's.. I owned several of both and I sold all my 21's and kept all my regulars for that reason alone.

still using the parts, I have an easy 50 opens and closes with the dry parts, how ever tonight I will ( or tomorrow ) take the knife apart and put a little "super lube" grease on both sides of the washers and on the pivot pin, will let you all know if that's any better or no change at all. As of now though I feel like these are 10-15% smoother and they make the knife feel 30-50% more ridged.

100% agree with this. Wish you could buy solid washers straight from CRK :(

I figured they would after wearing in and the knife will feel smoother as it wears in. Personally I would do about 400-500 opening before adding grease.

But I am still coveting your washers. I wish there was a place to get these and we could just sand them down to desired thickness and viol'a.

not going to lie, its nice having these bushings, but my friends emerson with factory bushings feels just as smooth, my bushings are .035 thick and his are .029, I might sand mine down a bit

Is there anyone here who makes custom hardware for Emersons? My friend carried a CQC-7 and I've been eyeing the Bulldog (don't have any tantos in my life... need to change that), but if there's one thing I've read about Emersons that I dislike it's the F&F.
