Custom Emerson Viper 5 - Looking for Info

I have a Viper V that is unlike any other Emerson that I have seen in that it has Allen screw fasteners. No date on blade but I bought it in 95 at a gun show.

If anyone has an idea of when this might have been manufactured, relative rarity, etc I would greatly appreciate it.

Well it doesn't have the viper logo, but mv5s are really sought after by collectors. With the specwar logo 1994 or newer. Beautiful knife!

Some Emerson customs use torx or allen heads, though its primarily done on older than 2000 produced knives from what I've seen. Hope someone has more info for you.
 
Thanks Eric. So would this knife more properly be referred to as an MV-5, as oppsed to Viper?
 
My understanding is that it would be referred to as a Specwar mv-5. The USN forum is a great resource for this sort of thing though, I'm really not that experienced with the customs.
