I'm intent to one day own a custom Emerson, preferably a Commander series one. Since the only way to get one "direct" from EKI is at gun/knife show lotteries I'm going to try to make it out to a few when I can and try my luck. So I have a few questions -

1) I live in New Mexico, nothing big/good ever comes here. Where are the closest gun shows to me that EKI will be at?
2) If I'm ever lucky enough to win a lottery, about how much do the knives cost? I'm sure it varies by model but I need a ball park figure so I know how much to save.

Thanks

The only shows that Lotteries are held by EKI are at Blade in ATL or The USN show in Vegas. You can find some customs at tables at knife shows around the country but expect to pay secondary market prices. Table prices at the emerson lotteries are $700 for standard customs, $900 for super versions and $2,000 for Full Dress models. Pearl handles etc.

There are online lotteries as well. Maybe once or twice a year. You'd find info on their website. I think you have to be a "Emerson Collectors Association" member to enter, but it's not to expensive and I believe it's good for life.

The Cross Roads of the West Gun Shows, has their December 3 day show. It is called the Small Arm Review Show. Phoenix AZ is the venue.

I have seen several "custom Emerson's” there for sale in the past. If nothing else there is on dealer who has what I call the best assortment of knives available at each show.

Plus there is a Knife Shop in Scottsdale that is worth the trip, as you might not find that Emerson you want. But the guy has a lot of Custom, and High End Knives if you have the funds to liberate em, and make em your..

Only problem is you don't get to pick which knife you want so the chances of getting a Commander are 1-2 out of 43-45 if there are any left and if that knife gets picked with your name. The rules are different for the virtual/online lotteries. Good Luck!

In some ways that sounds even more fun to me, like waiting for birth to know if its a boy or girl.

Id prefer a Commander, but Id love to own any custom Emerson model. Ive decided Im going to make a trip out to Vegas to the USN Gathering and try my luck.

Win me one too! Good luck, it sounds like an awesome trip.

I just won a Bulldog this past week from the online lottery. Technically speaking, it was my first win ever. My wife won at the Gathering in 2012, which allowed me to pick a knife.

Out of the two, I liked the online win more. It's as if the knife the chose me, which is kinda what happens. As a knife is drawn, then a name is drawn.

So, I guess you can say: A Custom Bulldog won me!

Also lottery at the NYCKS. I hope to score a custom this fall at that show. Unless you won't be there this year?
