Sal, guys, help me out here.

I have an idea for my EDC, Endura II SS PE model. I would like to swap the blade on it with my FRN Endura, then tap and thread it for ambidex carry, then file the handle with a shallow set of diamond crosshatching for grip (excluding where the pocket clip rides), then take the whole thing (blade, handle, and pocket clip) and Ti-Ni Rainbow Anodize it.

Who would customize an Endura like that for me?

Sal, if I send it back to the factory, could you do that? Email me approx time and cost and I'll ship them to ya with payment.

There are a few guys around who do custom work on production pieces. The bad news is I don't remember who. I don't think Spyderco will do that for you though.

There is another forum that has a "Pimp my knife" section, where guys do all sorts of this type of thing. This place frowns upon mentioning them though.

Unfortunately, the FRN Endura blade doesn't fit to the SS version. The good news is that SS Endura (and Delica) are to be updated at VG-10. So you can wait and then get someone to do the handles thing, or just get a FRN Endura now and find someone to make a set of Ti handles for it (with all the issues you have in mind). Speaking of Ti handles, there was a batch of Ti Enduras released a few years ago (with ATS-34 blade), but again, VG-10 blades won't fit there :(

I have both now, the blades look to be about 1/8" difference in length, the FRN one being longer, I can't imagine it being too difficult to grind to fit. I'm looking for the best of both worlds, the grip and blade of the FRN with the solid weight and looks of the SS model. And I'm just hooked on Ti-Ni Rainbow Anodizing.

I think you might find that it's the parts of the blade that you can't see that won't fit. The two blades would have to have exactly the same lock and blade tang geometry.

In addition, custom work such as this would likely cost considerably more than the price of a new.
