This is a custom fighting knife I purchased from Elliot G. Wakefield when I was home on leave. I brought it back with me to Iraq but I never took outside the wire. I did wear it between missions when on the FOB and it did get used for cutting chores though it's not what this blade is really meant for.
The scabbard is the Air Force issue pattern, the bladesmith explained that he got a really good deal on a large lot of them. It put me out for awhile as I felt it was chintzy for a $350 knife, but then I came to like it as it was later explained to me that a steel reinforced scabbared is a required item for knives when boarding helicopters as there is a chance of a crash landing and it will keep the blade from penetrating the scabbard and piercing into the wearer.
