I found this one a while back and it's awesome. Great stag and the file-work is extensive. I won it on our fav auction site for a great price (:D) due to lone crappy picture:

It was lazy when closing but I cleaned it up and oiled it and it works great now. Most everything is file-worked: bolsters, liners, blade, lock-bar and rear spacer too. I think it may be my new favorite. I don't see many custom 7-OTs and the carbon blade makes it an ideal user to my way of thinking.

I posted the crappy pic on "What's your latest Schrade?" thread when I first got it and Roland surmised that it may be be Orvet's (Dale's) work. Dale, I hope you can have a look at this and tell me what you think and if you remember anything about this knife.

Not sure that is Dale's work. If it is, I suspect it's EARLY work of his. He always marks the knives he works on. But it IS a nice knife and a great snag!

Hi guys,
Randy told me there was a knife here someone thought was mine.
So I decided to check.

No, that is not one of my knives. Nice knife, but not mine.

All of the knives I customize (as opposed to a repair) I mark with my name.
Inside the knife on the mark side liner you will find my initials and the year the knife was completed; e.g. - DRV Ø8 for a knife completed in 2008.
I make the zeros with a line through them so they look something like this - Ø.
You will also find my name on the blade of most customs I make, unless the customer specifically requests that I not mark the blade.

I see my gold BF membership has expired........wow, has it been that long since I have been here?
I have been keeping busy on AAPK and in the shop when I feel well enough.
I stopped taking new orders last year, as I just could not keep up with them due to some health issues and a lot of family things going on. My doc is dragging her feet on a shoulder surgery, so I have to do the Physical Therapy thing first before the surgery. Don’t know when the hand surgeries will be, soon I hope. After I get those issues settled I hope to start taking orders again. I will have to see how I feel.

I spent most of October helping my parents Mom had her knee replaced and Dad had to have a pacemaker. I took Mom to the hospital for her surgery in the morning & picked up Dad and took him home that afternoon. I spent a couple weeks with them on the farm taking care of them. I don’t recommend elder-setting a couple of Octogenarians! They are both doing good now and have the farm on the market; I will sure miss the fishing hole!

Well, that is what is happening with me. Keepin’ my head above water, barely & keepin’ busy. I will try to come in & say “Hi” a bit more often.

Y’all take care,
Dale

Dale,
Good luck with all the medical stuff, both yours and your parents. Always good to see you post. And sorry to hear about the upcoming loss of the fishing hole. Losing a good one is tough!!!

Dave

Thanks a lot for responding Dale. Sorry to hear of your struggles of late; I hope things turn around soon for you and yours. I will keep an eye out for your initials in the future.
