Custom Filework

When knife customizers do filework on the spine of a blade, what kind of file is used as the blade is hardened?
Diamond? Is is done by hand or with a grinder? Just curious how the pattern is kept so uniform.

Great question! I have still not found any information about who did the firework on this special CV sodbuster. I bought it (pre-patina; I use it) from a guy on fb who said he bought it this way and didn’t know anything about it!

My buddy Pete Winkler does this to some of his customs. There is a guy on YouTube I enjoy watching adding these custom touches to some Buck 110’s. If i remember he uses a Dremel. I believe his name is Kyle Noseworthy
