So have at it. What are some great custom knives for around 200 bucks? Please give me some recommendations. Remember fixed blades in this thread, thanks! :D

I was just browsing the Knifemaker's For Sale subforum & seen a bunch for $200 & under.

Check it out

You really left it open to what you wanted the knife for.

Bark Rivers for around or less than 200, and Dozier for a little more than 200.
Or as already stated, there are some makers here doing nice work at very good prices

I would contact Justin Gingrich of Ranger Knives. What a great guy, an artist and a craftsman. He made me a hybrid Wakizashi out of 5160 and it's a beast. Kyley Harris also has great experience with him.
Highly recommended.

I would check out Ecos knives. Knife makers name is Jason Aube. He makes some Asian inspired knives out of 1095. None of the cost any where near $200, they are lower, but still really cool. I have one of his Kirdashi's and I am very happy with it.

Any specific size your looking for?

I'm just saying "Fixed Blade Knives" covers A LOT of varieties.:)

Horan Sub-Q tanto ($225). One of the best deals in this price range:

Koster has some pretty damn good deals too, especially considering some of his CPM3V Bushcraft knives can go for <$150:

This is the absolute best bang for your buck. For just around $150 (depending on handle material) + $40 for a JRE sheath your looking at an extremely well made piece of gear made out of outstanding materials. I love CPM-3V in a fixed blade and Dan's scandi grind is awesome.

Shawn of SDS Knifeworks made me a beautiful Nessmuk in 154CM with curly maple scales for under $200 last year. He's in the makers' forum.

Yeah, it really is about what you want this custom fixed blade to do.

Or, as a collectible, what you want it to evoke in you....

Wow guys! Thanks for all the excellent recommendations! They all look super sweet. That should def keep me busy for awhile! :D

Fiddleback has some excellent knives for $200 or less.

Dan Crotts, Bob Dozier and Matt Bailey make great knives for just a bit more.

I'm a big fan of Nick of NWA knives myself, picked up my favorite fixed blade (NWA Sierra Scout) for around $200:

Tough blades, good practical steel, excellent design, SUPER handles, spectacular sheaths, great communication...and Nick's knives are aesthetically pleasing to boot!

Also check out these makers right here on the forums, most offer great knives for well under $200:
Stomper (JK Knives) -- I am about to get my first from him soon :)
Ray Laconico
Fiddleback
Bryan Breeden
Koster
Koyote

ETA: The Scout pictured above runs at $250 now. But I'm sure Nick can make you something for around closer to $200.
