Does anyone have experience owning or handling the following: Lightfoot's 460 or 458 mag, Duncan's Whiplash, and Obenauf's model 2. They seem to be somewhat similar designs and I'm interested in they compare in terms of durability, usability, and craftsmanship. I have a mid sized Whiplash and I'm impressed with the smooth action and solid lockup. I haven't any experience with the other two.
Thanks,
Steve

I have several of all three and like all. That said, for your specific critierion of usability, durablility and craftsmanship I would go with the Lightfoot or the Obenauf. The action on the Duncan is almost "too smooth" for everyday use, and while the whiplash is certainly a solid folder, it doesn't feel "rock" solid like the lightfoots and Obie's. Besides, you already have a Duncan, try something new! I've had a mini model 2 which I've been carrying for years now. Everything is still perfect with the knife, nothing loose, perfect lockup, etc. In addtion, Obenauf also makes a framelock model 2. Hope this helps!
