The part of knife collecting I love as much as actually using the knife, is researching the next one. I have since decided on a Branton Raider, and now would like to keep the research going by looking for a custom folder in ZDP-189.
In my understanding it is not the steel that is hard to come by, but the heat treat is some guarded secret that only a handful of American makers know.
I have seen William Henry knives, but they are too fancy for my liking and the ones that I do like are too small. (Unless someone knows of a model with a 3.5" - 4" blade)
I am going to keep this in the medium sized folder range like a sebenza or the soon to be ordered Raider.
So, can anyone recommend any custom makers that really excel (and actually have access to) this steel?
Thanks!
