I just took delivery on my numbered folder-it is the definition of bad a##. My wife wants to know why I shaved such a huge racing stripe down my forearm-wooooooow, talk about sharp. I was able to cut a nice big patch out of a vinyl top of a Cadillac to examine several bullets contained under the metal. This was at a very advanced shooting class-the instructor told me not to do it-it would damage my knife-NOT. This thing is a tank. I am now carrying it in a kydex belt sheath directly behind my Glock on my duty belt in the helo, and have moved the HT I was carrying to another rig. Needless to say, I truely feel that the Strider guys have built a real folding tool that is unique, not a copy of somebody elses knife. It worked out to perfectly fulfill its design parameters. For those who don't know- the folder was designed originally for military and law enforcement personnel who really needed a fixed blade, but were not allowed to carry them because of the many stupid restrictions that are placed on many of our frontline warriors. The Strider guys have built the ideal tool to fit that bill. It is not something that is a tote around little utility knife-it is a very serious tool. I also think it is probably the ultimate SERE knife as well. Thanks guys, it was worth the wait.

Nyeti,
Congratulations on the new folder. Is it numbered? If so, what #?
I agree that the Strider folders are the best heavy duty folders ever seen and I thought about it being ideal for Survival kits.
Best wishes,
Oliver

Hey DB,
Did you end up getting the hand filing? If so, how did that turn out? Take it easy.

knifebomber, I have #15 Tanto Strider folder on order. What is the hand filing?

For Nyeti, same questions as others, # and blade shape. Dick

Look, NO ONE gets any fkn hand filing!!!!
Pull yourself together Ryan!
I've never seen anyone want hand filing so terribly bad. I'm gonna send you a checkering file. You can hand file anything you want.
How are you Ryan? Everything well? Thanks for all your support. You're badass.

nyeti,
Glad your happy pal. How are you?
Everyone is very pleased with their new ‘stuff'.
You're the coolest.

For all of you who are interested in the upcoming auto, you may want to start sucking up to this guy. He pretty much gets most of the cool new stuff first. Its because he has the best facial expressions. Really the second best. The best is this SQUEAL named John. But we rarely see him anymore.

Thanks for the kind words guys

Mick

Mick,
Why do you lash out so? Perhaps an anger management class should be in order. DB sent me an email a while ago saying that he might be getting the hand filing done to his folder, so I thought that I would ask. The hand filing is just a little "I love me" to put onto the knives to make them just a bit different and a bit more comfortable to my soft "air force" hands. I know it is a major pain in your ass to make them, so that's part of the reason I ask!

Talk to you later....don't you dig the new ranger khaki berets?

Sorry to interrupt the love fest, but I just got a tiger stripped spearpoint, and would like to return to the topic. It is the best! This knife is like a new catagory of knives - a fixed blade folder.

I agree with Nyeti - this is a knife that can be used in any extreme without concern. And the handles are even radiused for delicate hands, such as airdales might have! I especially like the curved choil, in case one needs to do some close work with it and still retain full control of the knife. The only thing I'd change - not a complaint, just a suggestion - is to make the clip black instead of grey.

Thanks guys, this is my idea of beautiful.

What's wrong JohnnyB? Need a little loving? We love you too buddy. Its no big deal.....
Jeeze...

Okay... glad you like the knife. We'll eventually start making the clips black. I know that sucks for you, but it WILL make your knife worth more. We haven't had time to do any black clips. We're trying to find the best way to do it. Until then, people are wanting their knives, so their getting grey clips.

Hey, we're really glad you guys are happy with the folders.

My order is in for the GB model.

90 - 120 days to go, then I'll have to put on weight to get a bigger belt so I can clip all these blades inside the waistband !

Sorry Ryan, when I said I was getting hand filing, I was just yanking your chain....mine is just plain stock. I have #13, and a Proto spearpoint (neither are for sale-don't ask). I am very happy with both. I also received a gift of a numbered Mantrack from my Japanese connection. It is also awesome. The work the Strider guys are doing is flat awesome, they are just getting busier than they used to be. Just be patient on your orders, you'll forget the time when they arrive.

Well, I do have to say that since I received mine in early Feb, I've been able to live with the standard grooves. Poor me, I know! Just a bit of advice, though. Don't wear that knife next to your skin. What makes it nice and grippy also makes it better than most sand paper. After about 25 min or so, I'd worn a nice patch of skin off. I'm still looking for that perfect car to take apart with it, though.

Oliver asked that I share his new toys. He had some trouble with Photopoint.
