Custom Folders with an AXIS-like Lock?

After almost 20 years of collecting all kinds of production folders, with all kinds of locks, I think that the Benchmade AXIS lock is my favorite. I’m looking for something in the custom or mid-tech world with that lock (or a similar rolling/barrel lock style).

I’m also a fan of folders around 3” and prefer thinner blades. Usage is general EDC, nothing bushcraft or tactical.

So I’m looking for custom makers or mid-tech productions that make smaller blades and use this lock. My budget is fairly open for the right knife. Any suggestions or favorites or recommendations?

I've seen pictures of Shirogorov, Cheburkov and Biryukov knives with Axis locks. So maybe look for a Russian source, if you like these designs ? Not sure what your budget is.

Sounds like you should look at the TRM Shadow. I've never owned anything from them, but TRM is well known for making knives with well ground thin blades. The Shadow is their first axis-style locking knife and they look like they're being released right around now.

Thank you for this post! I totally missed this release. I'll have to pick one of these up! Love the blade shape!

The new Leafstorm 9 by Kevin Wilkins.
Oh that Leafstorm is sweet! I passed on the Spyderco version but a custom with that lock will be hard to resist. I wonder where they can be found. His stuff seems to sell out pretty quickly.
