I like knives like Emersons CQC and Buck\Striders hard core take anything kind of knives(I work construction). Im getting some Money together soon and I thought I should look into this custom stuff. Than I realized, take the little bit I know about the production world and toss it out the window.

I dont have the first clue about ANYTHING custom! The only thing I know is I want a Beck WSK bad. Dont have quite that much money yet :(

If I were to spend about $200 (dont laugh, Im poor!) What could I get for an EDC. For SOME kind of parameters, some of my favorite carry knives right now are a Spyderco Delica and my VERY favorite my new EKI CQC-7 :D(though I prefer a traditional grind..)

Looking for a one hand opening folder-pocket clip (non fragile){this does not mean has to be humongeous } Prefer 3 to 4 inch blade not much bigger 2.5 inch minimum.

Can you all help me ease into the custom world a bit, and maybe get a laugh out of it for yourselves ;)

A couple of knives that I can recommend that come at a very reasonable price (you could get both of them for what you are looking at spending) are the Whisper and Falcon by John Greco. He has given up knifemaking, but still had some of these models available in the recent past.

The Greco folders are GREAT hard use knives, they are very tough. They don't have a pocket clip, though. And even though they are setup for one hand opening, it usually takes two hands because they are very stiff (this is what I have read). For a little bit over $200, you could get yourself a used Sebenza. It may not exactly be a custom, but it's still a darn good knife. In fact, some say it's better than some customs.

Are you just interested in folders? Ever think about a fixed blade EDC?
I would carry a fixed blade and a small folder if I didnt have to wear a tool belt off and on for about 60% of my day. Anything on your belt really gets in the way of that, and getting in and out of my truck about a million times. I dont think I could stand a neck knife either. I just dont get those, but thats just my opinion.

For other purposes I carry a fixed alot though, fishing-hunting-shopping...(mall ninjas you know....)
