(Whoops didn't notice I posted this in the wrong place, could I get a mod to delete this thread? Thanks)

Hey guys,

I saw that there was a balisong collab project and I thought why not make a balicomb trainer as good as a 42?

I was compelled to try this because of my recent visit to my local Chinatown, hoping to find a balicomb similar to balisongman07's, but I was unsuccessful and ended up coming home with a switchblade comb which is much less satisfying.

The only thing really preventing me from finishing this on my own is the fact that I don't have a 42 to base the design off (maybe in a few years..)

I'm extremely adept with the Autodesk series of products and have 2 or so years of experience with it.

To give you an example I modeled the body of an Ibanez Jem body to the exact specs, right down to the proper curvature of the lion claws and the monkey grip, had it CNC'd and sold it for $700 (sadly I used the money to help pay for my car so that's why I can't afford a 42)

So if anyone has one, and can accurately measure (caliper or similar instrument) Please post here.

I need the following measurements

-Width, length and height of the handles
-width difference between the pivot side and the latch side (all the way up or down to where the flat part of the handle ends)
-length, width and depth of the blade trough
diameter of screw holes
-latch measurements
-blade measurements

and later on if anyone can bare to do this, I'd like someone to weigh each and every component separately with an accurate scale.

Here's the motivation for you guys

Assuming I finish this and have everything CNC'd whoever contributes the most will get a free production run balicomb.

The overall goal here is to make a trainer that will allow you to switch from it to a 4x, but still has a mildly useful aspect being a comb.

So, any takers?
