I'm posting this in the hopes of clarifying why sometimes some threads get moved to one forum or the other, primarily the Gallery.

Generally the Gallery should be used for the sharing of images when
there is little other content in terms of review or commentary.

By doing this, members will use the Gallery more and other members will know to look to the Gallery when they are primarily interested in looking at images.

Naturally if there is in-depth discussion of a particular knife or maker with commentary and/or questions, that would make it more apropos for the Custom forum.

Other posts which have more to do with the art and science of knifemaking are generally moved to the Bladesmith area, as are requests for custom knife makers to work on or modify a particular knife.

I hope that helps explain the basis of some of the decisions that are made in these instances.

In any case, none of the moves are made with malice, (despite what a certain bellicose knifemaker might think), but strictly from the point of view of directing traffic.

When mistakes or oversights occur please try to keep things in perspective and realize that nobody's life is at risk as a result of the decisions rendered here and none of the content is lost in the movement of any threads.

Thanks.
