Custom grippy, few questions

Hey guys, I have a few questions about the custom griptilian.
First, is the black coating option the terrible cerakote like finish they put on the cabelas D2 version? That costing killed the action terribly....
Second, is the carbon fiber slick or grippy? Does it look OK? I'm torn between all black everything (if blade coating doesn't impede flicking open by depressing the lock) with jade, or silver hardware with black blade and carbon fiber.
Third, is Benchmade Damascus anything special? I'm interested in Damascus or S90V.

Thanks!

The black coating is Cerakote. It should not affect the action since the blades are masked in critical areas to prevent this. The carbon fiber is nice although not extremely grippy if that is your main concern. The damascus steel material is made by Damasteel of Sweden. This steel has good corrosion resistance with edge retention similar to S30V, its a good user steel that also looks awesome.

My black coated large Grip is buttery smooth. Pivot tight and it flies open with a thumb flick.
