i am looking for custom griptilian scales, preferably metal scales. i have searched google/ebay but i doesnt seem like many people do scales for these knives. ive contacted cuscadi and they do no do metal scales yet, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Kevin Wilkins makes scales in G10, aluminum and once in awhile he will make some in titanium. Just Google his name and it will take you to his site.

Aren't too many making metal scales but they are out there in small batches.
Here is a few examples.

I have seen ones like these pop up on EBAY every few weeks or so. Keep an eye on the auction site and you might be able to score a set.

Wilkins doesn't make those Ti scales very often. Your best bet is to post up a WTB thread.

likely gonna cost me an arm and leg to get a pair... ohhh well, why are scales for this knife not so common as others? is it because the axis lock mechanism inside is hard to work with?

Custom scales for this knife are extremely common to me! :)
I make custom scales for all different kinds of BM Axis knives.
With the Griptilian series and the 710 series being in the highest demand.
Making custom scales for a knife with an Axis lock does require more work.
There is definitely a lot more chances to screw it up.
Especially with nested liners & an Axis lock mechanism....Mini-Grip/Ritter.
But, it's like ridding a bike.
While learning how to do it................ If you're not falling down once and a while, than you're not trying anything new.
And
Once you learn how............. You never forget.

Your original question was for"metal scales", that my friend is a whole different thing.

Keyman do you have a price list somewhere for your work?

Keyman do you have a price list somewhere for your work?
What model knife do you want me to make custom scales for?
What materials do you want me to use?
Both of these things have a bearing on what the price of finished scales would be.
The fastest way to get an accurate price from me is to email me with a knife model and a material you'ld like to use.
Check out some of the knife making suppliers online (2) for your materials.
Then hit me up with an email or a PM.

IMHO I would look at G10 or CF for scale material. I really like the feel of my Grip with the scales by Keyman. I got it totally wet the other day and the grip actually increased with the bare hand.
