Here is another custom handle conversion I did recently.
This is a cold steel master hunter with an unused USA carbon V blade.
I made the handle out of live edge white walnut did some 3D shaping for the best grip and stained it black to bring out the really cool grain.
I cut this from the center piece to try and get matching grain on the sides, not bad but this grain is so random from what you can see.
I used aluminum for the guard and stained it black to age it, I used a piece of canvas behind it.
I used a brass tube connection and flared it then aged it as well. It was easier to do a pass through hole for the tang so I filled the pommel with epoxy and chopped copper wire for an interesting look. Everything is epoxied on to be permanent. Handle is coated in polyurethane.
The guard snap section was too short but I was able to reuse the handle snap section and replace the guard snap for a perfect fit.
