One of the Federal wildland hot shot fire crews wants to present to their Superintendent a Swiss Army knife with commemoritive engraved/inlayed Micarda or carbon fiber scales. There is someone out there making these already and set up to do it easly. We know about them from people who have bought their products at knife shows. We don't know their name or point of contact. Please help. We will also consider a qualified custom knifemaker who is a member of the guild. This knife should be built as a user for one of the top fire bosses in the nation. It will commemorate the 2K fire season in the West. Details will be provided to serious makers. Quality is the first consideration, cost secondary. My son is a member of the crew and arranging the work. Obviously, he is "out of pocket" at the moment. I will serve as the go between. Thank you for your reply. My guess is that Dexter will move this thread to another area of the forum.

If you want to beat him to the punch, I would re-post this question to the "General Knife Forum" in the "Custom Knife" and/or "Shop Talk" forum.

I'm sure there is someone here that can help you.

I was around Glenwood Springs at about the time of the Storm King Fire. Your son has my admiration.

John - welcome to the forums. Mike is right, your post would get better response in one of those other forums. Off to Custom we go...
