What I'm looking for is a blacksmith that likes to dabble with tomahawks that is also semi-skilled in leathercraft and has a little time on their hands. Here's why:

I'm looking for a cheap tomahawk to use for training. This tomahawk, however, does not need to be "finished" (this includes polishing, sharpening, etc...) in any way except being de-burred and fitted firmly to the head of a standard replaceable haft. In fact, I'd prefer the hawk to have a deliberately blunted edge. Once this is completed, I would like the head of the 'hawk to have a permanent fitted thick leather "sheath" wrapped completely around it (poll and all), with a double layer infront of the blade. I don't care if it's stitched on, glued on with Gorilla Glue, whatever makes it stay.

So, is this doable? Anybody want to quote me a price, either on here or via PM?

I checked out some of his hawks at the Pumpkin Festival in Milton and they were nice.

Fiddlestick. Just got off the phone with Tom. Very nice older gentleman. I sent him in an email exactly what I wrote above, but he said he isn't sure what exactly I mean. I've gotta try to find a picture of what I want so I can email it to him. Hmm... any of you other forumites have a pic that might even remotely resemble what I want? haha
