does crk take requests for inlays? or can i send them materials for inlays? i doubt it but was curious.

I was on a certain knife site the other day and they were saying that CRK did make I believe a Sebenza with presentation Iron Wood that they had provided to CRK. Again, this was a knife selling company, so I'm not sure if that would differ from the normal customer. Shoot Heather an email or give her a call, she'll let you know right away.

Happy Holidays!

Peter - I'm pretty sure the answer is no, unless you order maybe 50 units with plans to resell them. He doesn't seem to have a problem doing limited edition runs for certain clients.

I seem to remember the reason for not doing custom inlays was that CRK just don't want to start doing lots of single custom knives for people. Also they want to keep tabs on the quality of the materials used. If wood cracks, Ivory shrinks or bone splits they would no doubt be hearing about it from the customer, who may expect CRK to fix any of those issues.... i.e. it's more trouble than it's worth.:)

unless you make an order of 20-100 knives and ask really really nicely and put cash upfront....most likely not.

cool, they said no today, but how bout we start a list for carbon fiber inlays and when we get 25 we make an order.

Great idea.
Maybe you can suggest that to a dealer, to start such a project.

To be honest I do not see this playing out. I have never seen any evidence that CRk is willing to do special runs. I have seen CRk shoot down any hope of having knives that "WE" want. It's just not in them to do what we like.

I think that CRK would be more likely to do a special inlay with a familiar product type (such as wood) than something they have no experience using (like carbon fiber). But asking is the key. Let us know what Neil at TNK says.
