I have been carrying this beauty around for for the past week and a half or so at work and home, and finally had a change to get it dirty and play around. The Knife is a very nice Wharncliff type design by JK Handmade Knives. The very cool pocket sheath is the work of Noah of Wasteland Leatherwork. Together they make an extremely formidable edc package.
As my work schedule right now has me mostly working nights, I have not had too much time in day light to really put the knife through the ringer so I took a few moments the other day before work to perform a very basic task that any good edc should be able to do, prepare wood for a fire. I was not able to get out and play so I had to do it in the backyard with the material available... which was a piece of leftover fence board.
I started splitting the board into strips. A few whacks with a piece of 2x4 and it ripped right through it.
Splitting the larger strips even smaller yielded some ver nice kindling to start a nice little fire
You can't start a good fire without making some fuzz sticks..... so of course I did.
Pounding the knife through the board did not seem to do a thing to the edge, perfectly sharp to make some nice curls. John's Heat Treat is spot on, you could pound his knives through a brick and still have a manageable edge
more....
