There are so many sprint run and limited production kershaw variants floating around it'll make your head spin. :D Mine hasn't stopped yet. :D Unfortunantly, because it happens so often, none of them seem to accrue much of a value...but it makes for some sweet knives.

Kershaw's does many variations on their knives. Someone may have customized this one, or it could be some sort of photochop. I didn't realize it but 2brothers is correct, the composite blade and the titanium handles don't appear to ever have been offered together.

Kinda weird, as the only way to do that would be to purchase an SG2 JYD II and a CB JYD II.
That blade and those handles only come on one knife respectively.
It is not a production model nor a sprint run.
(Unless of course it was made special for overseas. Doubt it, but possible)
I noticed the pics are on a Russian server. Another forum or BB perhaps?

Could just be the pick, but it doesn't look like the D2 has been etched. Which makes me think it's not a frankendog.

Odd, I imagine this would be a very straightforward blade swap, yet I've never seen it done before.

I guess Frankendogs aren't as popular as Frankenleeks :)

If it is a "frankendog," then the blade came from a linerlock knife. I don't know if it would matter, but it seems like there might be dimensional differences that would possibly affect lock-up.

Valid point, but, with Kershaws.... sometimes yes... alot of the time no. A great many Leek conversions are done with liner lock handles and frame lock blades and vice versa. In my experience, if the knives are from a similar date then there should be little or no lock up geometry issues.

If your tooling is set up to cut the lock face on the blade one way, why would you change it to acomodate a different lock..... wouldn't you just tool the new lock to fit the old lock face. This would be especially true with a JYD b/c the liners are nearly as thick as the frame lock.
