Custom knife factory: Rabbit

Anyone like this one? Thoughts?

These days people seem to be very eager to pay several hundred dollars for "cool design" and "good flipping action". Yes, if you set the detent hard and use a bearing pivot, the flipping action's going to be smooth. Good for you. Other than that, it's a mostly Chinese made knife with pretty basic materials and blade steel, and there have been a lot of reports of spotty QC by this company.

As I understand it the parts are machined in China and all the assembly, finishing and QC is done in in their shop in Russia. I could be wrong?

That's correct, but consider the not insignificant number of knives that has come out of their shop with fit and finish issues, and the manufacturing cost that is saved by outsourcing the machining of the materials. Consider that a completely in-house made, assembled, and finished titanium framelock with similar features (bearings, flipper, premium steel) made with a US labor force, facility and materials retails for $180 or so.

To me this company seems to be capitalizing on the mid-tech craze and on the perception that a higher price point will generate greater demand. Great strategy really; they're aiming to satisfy all the latest fads with titanium framelocks, bearing pivots and flippers, while outsourcing a significant part of the work going into their knives to China and having none of the professionalism that other knife companies have in regards to quality control and customer service.
