Custom knife features?

Does anyone know if anyone produces a custom utility knife with the blade, hilt and rear portion (cap?) all in one unit? I am looking for a 4 inch drop point with wood or micarta handle material. Would these features have to be by 'special order'?

Have you considered a Chris Reeve Knives "One Piece"?

I only know one other maker making a knife sort of like what you want. Tom Johannang (sp?) but, his knife is a larger tanto.

Why are you looking for a knife like this? Have you had a knife failure of some sort or, is this an itch you just have to scratch

Thanks for the information Sid and l will check out the Reeve knife.

I was looking at an old issue of Gun Digest's Accessories & Services and noticed a design of this type in the 'Knives' section. The custom knifemaker was T.M Dowell and the design looked good. Just wondering if this type was available today.

There are several makers who make integral fixed blades, but they are by no means inexpensive. One maker to check out is Edmund Davidson out of Virginia. Here are a few examples of his work:

yes.....Chris' knives are in the reasonable ball park...the other ones are very pricey
