custom knife gamble

ok gang, I did it again. I just took a gamble on Ebay. It was a custom skinner, with antler handle, made by a guy named Gregory in 2002.
dont know a thing about the steel, and its not the prettiest of blades, but looks thick and functional. Nice antler handle, pinned in and I got a feeling the blade is a forged carbon steel blade. I only gave $ 37.00 bucks for the knife, so I cant be burned too bad if it turns out to be a dud..
Gotta figure how I'm going to tell the wife about this one !!!

Let us know how it turns out. I know I've taken a gamble on quite a few knives from ebay and most of them were great. Some I felt like I practically stole the knife. Other times... well, not so good. :barf:

But hey, $37 dollars? It's worth the gamble. Better odds than Vegas anyway. :D

i've been tempted to do that sort of purchase also but couldn't muster the courage to do so. One time I bought a cheapo sword that I knew was going to be BS but I did it cause it was advertised as antique.

;>) Turns out the blade wasn't even steel but some type of aluminum alloy that i snapped with 2 hands. Worst $25 ever!

Another time I chanced buying 2 antique mexican knives and got burned by the seller. My fault for not noticing invalid contact data.

this is bad,,,,, I dont know how to add a link here.... I could get the pic of ebay... but how to attach it here is not within my brain power... gotta remember I'm a old man
