Why not go with the USPS insurance?

I'm not aware of any other options for short term commerce related insurance. Am interested to learn about it also if it's out there though.

Inquire through your membership in CKCA. Should be some information on the web site.

Paul's correct. As a CKCA member you get a discount with Collectors Insurance Services. And I can personally attest they are an excellent company. I had a knife stolen from my checked luggage returning from a show and after filing a 'no hassle' claim I received a check for full value in 30 days to the day of reporting the loss. Your policy also covers your knives which you ship or are shipped to you.

I also have these guys and have been very happy with them.

However, not sure how the policy works if you have sold something and shipped it overseas as part of a sale. That may be a bit out of the coverage area.

Still wondering why not just buy the couple of $$'s worth of insurance with the USPS in this case. Even though my collection is insured I would still get the USPS myself.

I also use http://www.collectinsure.com/ and never buy insurance from USPS. Not sure if either cover overseas shipping though.

For years I have shipped all my knives Express Mail overnight with USPS, with never a problem. Wounldn't have a problem doing it with no insurance at all.

I doubt that your CKCA membership will be of any help, since Collectibles Ins Agency probably won't issue you a policy, due to your location.

The last change CIA made to it's insurance carrier was from the Hartford to Underwriters at Lloyds. Prior to the change, it would only issue policies to individual collectors and/or dealers in the US. I still don't think they issue any policies internationally.

In any case, I am rather certain they don't do single event coverage.
