Hey all,
I'm looking for a small custom field knife, something similar to a Mora #2 but with a full tang construction, full sized palm-filling handle, guardless, and 3/32" thick like the Mora's. Grind is negotiable. I love my Mora's, but I'm looking to find a very similar custom design in order to get something with full tang construction (the rear of one of my Mora's partial tang went through the handle) and also to get superior metallurgy.
I'll admit that I've always been a bit spoiled when it comes to metallurgy. One of my very first knife purchases was a Murray Carter Neck Knife. For those of you who have never handled one of his neck knives, they are so well made, and the metallurgy is so crazy good, that everything else seems a little underwhelming to me. I have used my Murray Carter in the field quite a bit over the years, but some of the design aspects (thinned spine, smallish handle) aren't ideal for field use.
Any ideas?
