Recommendation? Custom knife maker between NYC and Chicago

Dear Bladeforums community,

I hope this is the right area for my question to be posted.
If not, please apologize.

I'm French and will travel to USA next summer. As a blade fan, I really would like to meet a custom knives maker and to take the opportunity to buy a fixed blade and take it back home. My son is also making his own first blade from scratch for some weeks and he would definitely enjoy to speak with a professional.

Who would you recommend, knowing I will move from NYC to Chicago and can stop anywhere in between ?

Ohio has two that i own . Busse and Lt Wright . Wright has a store front of sorts .
Also wright gives tours.

R.A. Rotella makes great knives. Based in Niagra NY. I’ve had a loveless field and stream copy made from him and it was 10/10.

Tapered tang, and Paul Bos heat treated ATS-34. It was a great knife at a great price.
