Custom Knifemaker Collaborations

I didn't want to hijack another member's post (Who Makes Decent Copies?) so I added this one.

Personally, I will not buy a "stolen knife design copy" from anyone. The stealing of custom knifemakers' designs by overseas companies and a few here in the U.S. is becoming quite frequent. In the beginning when I started getting a little more serious with the knives I bought, I would buy production collaborations of custom knifemakers that I like, i.e, Kershaw Ken Onion, Spyderco Howard Viele, CRKT Howard Viele, etc., because I could/can afford them. There are plenty of custom/factory collaborations out there that should fit the bill for someone who cannot afford a full blown handmade custom. Below are a few. Google them if you need to and feel free to add to the list. Realistically, there are so many new custom knifemakers entering the arena these days that I would like to see more collaborations.

I am with you, as I will NOT buy a "stolen knife design" either. There are way to many reputable knife makers TO buy from!
