There are custom knives available for under $100, but you have to expect that they're going to be limited in many ways. You can find several good examples every day on this board. The trick is to see what's a value to you at that price. You're not going to find a Don Hanson Bowie for $100; but you may find a Snoody for that. And if you're looking for a knife to use (or just learn from) the choices are going to be much wider. Bernard Levine says it right up front, "You have to look at a lot of knives." So use this forum to see what the makers are capabile of, and then start looking for where you can spend your money to get a knife that's a value.
